It's a go! Cadillac will have parking Corrals at both Road Atlanta for The Petit Le Mans Oct. 5-6 and at Monterey Oct. 19-20. This is truely an historic event, Cadillac has never done this before.

At Road Atlanta the parking will be limited to 50 cars. There will be parade laps for the corral participants (3 laps). These should take place on Friday afternoon (once again first time ever). There will be a photographer taking your picture on the track. The drivers of the CTS-V race cars will be at the corral on Friday to meet everyone and sign stuff. Jim Taylor from Cadillac along with Patrick Walsh and Kurt Ghering will be there. The Cadillac LMP 900 race car may also be there on display. The corral will be overlooking turns 10a and 10b. This is a great event at one of the worlds greatest race tracks. I hope we can have a good showing of XLRs and V cars. This is also the 10th Anniversary of the race, so this will be the biggest celebration in Road Atlanta history. For more info visit RoadAtlanta.com

When you order your tickets (800-849-race) let them know that you need an infield parking pass for the Cadillac parking corral. If you don't have the pass, you won't be able to park in the corral. Put the word out to all your XLR and V car friends and we hope to see you all there.

There will be more info on the race at Monterey coming soon.

Great news. This is a great event and also again fabulous of Cadillac to honor the XLR.

Being that the parking corrals are in the infield, does it take the additional $40 "infield fee" to access them?

Can't wait to do the parade laps. I'm sure they'll let us go faster than we did on the rattle and squeek track at BG.

Tomorrow we will call Road Altanta and double check with them on the price. Yes, they will allow us to travel faster on the track then we did in BG. Can't wait to see all of the XLRs out on the track together.

If you want to see an exciting finish for Team Cadillac:

This U-Tube clip from last year at Road Atlanta shows a duel of a CTS-V and Viper on the last lap.

It was a great finish. Tommy Archer and Ron Fellows battled all the way to the end and Andy Pilgrim won the race. There will be 3 CTS-Vs at Road Atlanta again this year. Ron Fellows will be driving the #16 car along with the #1 and #8.

I checked with Road Atlanta and the price for the parking pass for the Cadillac corral is $25 plus the cost of the tickets.

There isn't much info yet on the Monterey race but I will pass it along when I hear something. I know there will be a Cadillac Corral and you should be able to do the parade laps.

The parking pass is $25 instead of $40 for the Cadillac corral. The ticket prices are the same. There will be a nice viewing area near the corral overlooking turns 10a & 10b. These races aren't like most other races. There aren't any assigned seats around the track. You can walk the track and view the racing from different areas. There are hillsides you can sit on. You can bring chairs if you'd like. It's a real nice way to watch racing.

I'd be interested in the Monterey event.

You can get event info at www.laguna-seca.com. for the sports car chamionships. You can call and ask about the Cadillac corral pass @ 800-327-7322. They don't have the corral listed yet in the ticket info.

For those interested in reviewing the Road Atlanta website, referenced event and race course, you can go to:

http://www.roadatlanta.com/ev_petit.lasso

On the "track map" layout, you'll spot the turn 10A & 10B that Bruce referenced.

We will be staying at:
Extended Stay in Duluth, GA.
3390 Venture Parkway
Duluth,GA.
direct phone # 770-623-6800

This is about 35 miles southwest of Road Atlanta. The Corvette Registry will be staying at this exit as well. Road Atlanta is on highway 53 between I-85 and I-985.

There are other hotels at this exit and closer to Road Atlanta, but availability may be an issue.

Yes, Atlanta does have excellent shopping, but personally, I'd rather hear the sound of the those Corvette C6-Rs!

Cadillac should be releasing the corral schedule for Petite LeMans at Road Atlanta in the next few days. They will be providing lunch to corral members on both Friday and Saturday. I hope we have a bunch XLRs show up to support this event.
