:banghead as a Corvette guy, I can't let this go, The XLR gets the frame from the Corvette, not the other way around. This means that the XLR has a VERY stiff yet light chassis, the Corvette is not being comprimised to share a platform with the XLR:cheers A lot of people think that since it's sharing with a luxury car that it will need to have a flexable chassis and that it would have to have a great ride. But if the XLR had normal suspension components, the ride would be horible, the only reason it will have a decent ride is because of the magnetic suspension.

I just don't like it when people think the Corvette is going to be comprimised:seeya

The Corvette is not going to be compromised ... it is just going to be sharing the same chassis.

Just because the Hummer H2 is sharing the same platform with the Suburban doesn't mean the H2 has the same interior room or is the same vehicle as the Suburban.:cheers

:iagree It's the same frame but it isn't even the same lenght as the Vette frame is. The Vette will certainly not be compromised.

Also, the new Vette will not share the same exact body panels as the XLR either, and the rear end is not as wide and it will have two round lights on each side on the back like the C-3 Corvettes.:cool

Nice pics-beautiful car-which one do you think they will use as a test bed for new innovations? Makes me nervous them building a car with so many things in common with the vette. too easy to ease out one or the other:yesnod :seeya :flag

You are right, but GM won't do that now, they may have 5 years ago, but they are planning a big turn around of performance and quality. GM won't screw us over anymore I don't think:cheers
