HI EVERYBODY,

LAST NIGHT, I HAD A SMALL SURFACE SCRATCH ON THE BUMPER. I TRIED TO REMOVE IT USING A SCRATCH REMOVER COMPUOND. UNFORTUNATELY, IT DAMAGED THE PAINT MAYBE BECAUSE I RUBBED IT A LOT. IT REALLY PISSED ME OFF BECAUSE THE CAR IS STILL NEW:banghead :banghead :banghead ... ANY IDEAS HOW TO REPAIR IT WITHOUT REPAINTING THE WHOLE BUMPER?
ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL REALLY BE APPRECIATED.

SilverXL ....How deep is your scratch? Can you feel it with your fingernail? If you cannot it can be buffed out. I think you may have used too coarse a compound and scuffed up the clearcoat. This can be machine buffed out. If the scratch can be felt with your fingernail, it will probably need to be refinished (painted). Can you post a picture?

Regards,

Elfred

I scraped the entire front end in a steep drive way. Found Aero Colour in the yellow pages. They came out to the house.. sanded and repainted the front end and did a beautiful job.. Try them for a fix. They are franchised thru out the country. My repair ran $150.. for $300 had all the road rash cleaned up on the Escalade and some front end damage fixed..
They are great!!Try them I am sure they can fix your clear coat and scratch.

Dear Elfred,

I tried to upload a photo but it wouldn't work because the image is 1mb. Since the dealer's body and paint shop is in another city, i decided to send the car today to a sevice center here in Dubai (not the dealer) and they told me it can be painted by something called "touch paint brush" and there is no need to paint the whole bumper, since the scratch is under the right fog lamp. The scratch is deep and u can even see it from 10 meters far... I really don't know what to do. Do I trust the guys here in Dubai?

Hey ppl,

I hope you all are doing well. I took the car today to the paint and body outlet which i mentioned about before, and they told me they will paint the whole right side of the bumper, over the old painting as well, since the detail brush would look ugly.
So i decided to go to ACE hardware store> Surprisingly, i found the solution there... a detailing pen with exactly the same car color. The pen costed me around 5 dollars only. I went back home and i painted it myself. It looked great and nobody can notice it:glol
Again thank you people for your help.
