Get the Corsa's,they have no drone. The Borla's DO! Don't ask me how I know http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif I found the Corsa's on the web for 1745.00 shipped and have a buddy with a rack, took 90mins. All bolt on no welding.

Ouch! Don't quote me, but I think Hans had his Corsa shipped to German for $1,600
That's a bit much. I can check up here at Allen or Tustin
Bob

Yep, in a post in the WC, if you can work through all of that chatter, you will note that I stated that Ray got Upgrade-Envy at BG ..... Especially with the intake and exhaust systems ....

Anyway, so far we have found that the stock size is 2-3/4" and Corsa is 3-1/2" .. don't know about the Borla yet .

A Corsa install at our dealership is $2156.00 ... trying to find out if that is fair?

:iagree The Corsa's bolt right on. I found them on the web for around 1600.00 and cost me 75.00 from an exhaust friend to put on. Do some searching it'll be well worth it. I'm sure Ray knows someone who can install it.:yesnod

Okay, truth be known. I am married to Lola's Mom. I know, I know. But I am just starting to do some things to the car, and this is the best place for information that I have found. Everyone seems to know the answer to questions, or at least offers good opinions. It was great to meet everyone in Bowling Green. It is not often that you meet a great group of people and car enthusiasts in one location. :thumbs

I think Ruth Ann will be glad to let go of all of the technical information that I have ask her to research for me. I will send her back to the Wives Club. :glol

I haven't changed my intake--just installed K&N filters and I notice a difference. I'm sure the Volant Intake also helps and as BH says headers would too!!

Git back to subject here..................

Corsa web site: http://www.corsaperf.com/

They have a system for the XLR's 2004 and up. But not the V;s I think the pipes are 2 1/2 inch dia.

And I agree,,,,,,, There's suppose to be no drone with the corsa system. Even my stock system has a roar (drone) in the cab that I don't like!

Talk to Galen he has corsa's on his car. They were great, I followed him to BG and I could hear him get on the car, and I was behind him on the interstate!

From the corvette forum,,,,, the Borla are just plain LOUD! (if that's what you want).

And, will you please stop encouraging him! :smash :smash

His list is so long now that I know I won't be seeing the inside of a shoe department for a long, long time .... and now he's got you guys to support him! That's all I need!

You have met me .... now you know why he likes to be out in the garage .. haha, but that is okay by me ... you should see how pretty Lola looks today ... He found that ICE has a car wash too .... bought that at CostCo today ... He loves that stuff.

And, it is true .... opposites (sp) must attract .... a laptop would be at the bottom of his wish list ...... !!:D

He just says, 'Read it to me ...." .... now, aren't I just the 'good wife"' :angel

Ruth Ann , Mayyybeee you need to hook up the XLR Nav system with wireless phone card and use that screen and keypad for Ray.:crazy Let's see which IP would work best.....:glol

Thanks for all of the good information so far. I can see that there is a big difference between Corsa and Borla. My 3rd choice is to choose the system designed by Manny, Moe and Jack, which is 2 cherry bombs and a spark plug ignighter. If I chose their system would it melt the car? :glol

I absolutely love the sound from my Corsa exhaust ... It really transformed the driving experience. Back in February, I paid $1318 (delivered) from LMPerformance (http://www.lmperformance.com) and was extremely happy with the sales & service (very personal & nice to deal with). Looking at current pricing (on various websites), it seemz to have jumped nearly $200 ... I'm not sure why. Give them a call ... Perhapz they can beat/meet some online pricing in the high $1400's.

I vote for dump-outs! There are quite a few manufacturers out there with systems that would adpat to the XLR with very little fabrication.

My wife's from Lowell. If you go to the auction in the XLR, they probably think you're there to buy the whole place:lol :lol :lol :lol

Hey Floyd,

You have the baffles on yours that can be opened up like standby did, or even bigpopguy. There is also the remote control for like $75.00. I believe it sounds as good as the Corsa. No need to get down:thumbs

Yea,,,, it may sound better with the baffles open but,,,,, then you get a lot of drone noise in the cabin and after a while it gets old!!! The Corsa's are not suppose to be like that.

If you go the Manny, Mo & Jack route, put those spark arrestors in the end of the pipes so you can shoot flames out when you push the button!!!!

I guess I don't understand what makes an exhaust system worth that much money. I got a stock exhaust from a 2005 C6 off the corvette forum, hacked off the mufflers, put on a set of turbo-style mufflers with a nice set of 1"x11" stainless tips. total price invested maybe $300.

09-12-2007, 01:29 PM
Back to the Borla information you requested.........I have the only prototype Borla exhaust that was designed specifically for the XLR. It was built much more reserved than what they build for the Corvette. Mine is however deeper and somewhat louder than the Corsa. You can mount a Corvette Borla to the XLR, however the sound is terrible. Borla has yet to put the XLR unit into production.
