It's only a prototype, but what do you guys think? If interested, please PM me.

Thanks,

Joe

I think I would be a little concerned about cooling... how far have you driven like that? Also would be interested in knowing if it affects the ACC.

Interesting idea but here's a couple of things to consider:

1. Nosemasks in general are not a good idea to keep in place for any extended period of time because the moisture that will eventually build up behind them permanently damages the paint finish. Therefore, ease of application and removal are key.
2. You should try and find a way to keep the grill open. It will look better and if you've opened up the air vents behind the grill (as on your V) you'll avoid restricting air flow to the engine compartment.
3. The front top of the hood on the XLR is very prone to stone chips and this is an area not protected by your mask.
4. If anyone should have a front license plate (God forbid) it would be covered by the mask.

Hopefully this helps.

Nice, but here in Va you would get pulled in a New York minute for no plate. I also agree with the overheating issue. I have had Viper masks that had mesh where the plate goes so you could read the plate and it allowed for more airflow.

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for your honest feedback. The material is stretch nylon knit construction so the air flows through rather easily. The primary purpose is to keep the bumper clean and bug-free. I haven't noticed any affect what-so-ever on the 443 horses. It simply secures to the V with 3 snaps on each side of the wheel well and 3 plastic hooks under the hood in a realtively short amount of time. Best part it is machine or hand washable and it folds compactly for easy in-car storage. I asked a friend of mine to make it for me and he may take it to market if there is enough interest. The front licence plate issue is..............don't get me started. :banghead

No overheating issues and no marks on my front end. I take the mask off when not in use. Have used used it for about 1,500 miles.

I know it may be difficult to do but honestly it would look so much better if the front grill would be exposed.

Gee, remind me not to retire in VA. NO Valentine-1, Have to have a plate on the front, and I bet no tinting. Do they really need money that bad to fine people for these small infractions?
I'm glad we have TPM's or we would get pulled over for having to high/low air pressure in our tires.

Have you tried your adaptive cruise control since you installed the mask?

It is right in front of the radar. It may affect it's function. :skep

Standby . And you didn't even mention the recent huge fines for moving violatons in va that got all the media attention.

hey, but I see you are in Cal , a state without peer for nutty laws and whacked out jury verdicts (I have tried cases there-Tx, Alabama and Fla only come close).

I get a kick everytime I see a manufacturer having to put on its product "The state of cal has determined that this widget causes cancer"....

I agree, it does not matter on the V but it would have to be proven that the mask does not affect the Adaptive Cruise control on the base XLR. If I can get a couple small squares of the fabric, I can test it. :skep

In Florida it would be great for luv bug season, but other than that, I think it takes away from the look of the car too much. Afraid it would wear into the paint as well.
