I want to run some additional wires from the left door pillar area into the engine compartment. Things are a tight fit and I have not yet discovered an existing opening that I can utilize. I'll drill a hole next to the steering collumn if necessary, but I'd rather use a hole that's already there. Any suggestions?

Who was it at the Rendezvous that had gauges on the driver side A-column? That's the guy you need to talk to. If I recall, they had installed at least 3 or 4 gauges up the column.................

We'll see how things turn out first!
Where can I pick up a variable DC voltage to operate instrument illumination? I have 2 small incandescent lamps to operate. Is all of the dimmable lighting in the car done by LED's?.
If that is the case I can install a mini pot to operate them.

According to the wiring diagram supplied by a local dealer, the grey wire from the plug on back of the dimmer switch is a 0-12 VDC line to run the panel lamps. Confirmation is tonights project.
The feed thru from passenger to engine compartment is done by drilling a hole below the brake booster and somewhat to the left of the steering shaft. There is a circle printed on the inner panel. Access the opening on the engine side by removing the lower inner fender liner. You will only be drilling thru plastic and insulation materials. No steel.

It is not the grey wire but the orange wire that will give a variable DC voltage to operate instrument lamps. The voltage varies with the dimmer for the panel lamps.
