I've got one of those "once and a while" deals. When I'm coasting up to a red light, occasionally the car will accelerate for about a second, then start to decelerate again. Anyone had this problem?

Apparently, my car, "Christine" has a mind of her own, but really now, this could be serious if it decides to accellerate into the back end of another vehibcle. Have you heard anything from anyone about this?

This is a long shot, but something to check. I do not currently own an XLR, but shortly after I purchased my Jaguar XK8 I rear-ended a parked car as I was pulling up behind it. Turned out the shoes I was wearing at the time had wide soles and I hit the brake and gas at the same time - very weird sensation! Could you have caught the edge of the gas pedal as you braked for the stop?

Possible - size 15 EEEs. I'll keep an eye on that

You may need to have the throttle bore cleaned. I don't know how many miles you have on your XLR. Since fuel doesn't pass through the throttle body you can get a build up behind the throttle blade changing the air gap when the throttle closes. If the ECM the thinks the engine is about to stall it will increase the throttle opening causing the vehicle to surge forward. I hope this helps:D

15,000 miles. I have to take it in to see if they will address the cool seats that don't cool. I'll have them check the throttle bore too. Than:seeya ks for the tip.

I had an Oldsmobile that did something like that... they re-flashed the computer and I never had that problem again.

Yep, Had the same problem on my F 250. Re-flash took care of it.

I have an 05 that a got a few months ago with 1700 miles on it. Yes, the surge is a definite problem. It seems as I am slowing, there is a fairly big surge as the speedometer slows under 40 mph. Unfortunately, after the surges start, (It doesn't always surge) eventually the car just dies while I am driving it. The car is at the dealer now, the 3rd time, for both the surges and the engine quitting. Both pretty major things, dangerous actually. They have pretty much replaced everything after the last 2 visits, so I don't know what they are going to do this time. I no longer feel safe driving my car.
