Last week I hit my remote to open the trunk. When it didn't, I pressed the tpuch pad which also failed. Then I tried to get in the car. The door wouldn't open. I tried fob #2. No luck. I had to key the trunk open and pull the door release. All systems were locked down. Before panicking I remembered someone on this forum said that disconnecting the battery would sometimes reset the system. I opened the hood ,disconnected battery for 10 seconds and reconnected. Success!

Everything was back to normal until I pressed the remote again. Locked down again. I took it to the dealer who (after ignoring my warning not to use the remote and getting locked out) diagnosed a bad Power Conrol(?) Module. My 2004
model has 55000 miles on it and is out of the regular warranty. Fortunately, the PCM is covered for 8 years or 80000 miles. It will be replaced tomorrow. Keep this in mind if you ever have a sinilar problem.

If all systems where locked down, how did you open the hood?...........or did I miss something?

Bob
......the part about manually opening the trunk by using the key and pulling the door release (inside trunk; left side). The hood can then be opened.
