Hey Team XLR,

I enjoy the Corvette forum with the C5, thought I would try to find an XLR forum and here we are. I have only had the car about 2 months, just love it though. http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x304/tneliton/xlr.jpg

Excellent choice ... Really goes well with the color!

Perfect choice for a black car! Well done. Can you advise the wheel and tire size and brand you went with?

Welcome to the forum,
I prefer chrome, but these are the nicest black/chrome I have seen and gives it an elegant look.
Think I'll put up a pic of my 20's

Thanks 427, IBMBROKER and Standby.

For IBM, they are 20x 8.5 in the front with Kumho Ecsta SPT's 255/35/20
THe backs are 20x9.5 with 3" Crome Lip.

For Standby, it was a stretch for me too to go with the black as I have always had brushed aluminum or chrome on all my sports cars but when I saw these in person with that big fat crome lip, and the crome strips in the middle, I felt it really gave it a masculine look with the black body and interior.

Had the exterior been another color, I would have gone with chrome too.

THanks for the welcome too!

Be Blessed!

Travis

I also had a C5 and a C6 prior to getting my 06 XLR. I know you'll enjoy it as we all do on the forum. I'm glad to see a previous corvette owner join in because we all seem to want to modify and dress up our cars. I've also gone to the chrome Z06 wheel and the V mesh grill, along with the corsa exhaust and K&N air filters. You'll get a lot of people wanting to know what kind of car is it? You just don't see that many on the road like the vette. Good luck with yours and have you considered joining us in Bowling Green in August? It's gonna be a blast. Bill (ocool)

You still have time to join in the Bowling Green mass meeting. I don't know where you live but we have people coming from Germany just for this event.
Then we can see those rims up close

Travis,

I have a black xlr and would like to copy your setup, what brand are the wheels and can you recommend a distributor?

Thanks,

Tek

The brand is Asanti and I am not sure which model these are. They won't look like this in most mags or on line in their catalog because they are usually either black or Chrome, these obviously painted after with a combo chrome and black.

Here is a link for you. http://superbuytires.com/Asanti/AF+Diamond+B/?v=67&year=2006&diameter=20&w=3367517&p=7&s=20&suggested=255/35x20&p1=&p2=&finish=all

Asanti has some wheels that are diamond encrusted and are a million for the set of 4, check the link. That is great use of money.:crazy

We love your wheels - best looking set we've ever seen on a Black Raven XLR! Is this the exact same wheel (we're a little confused about the chrome lip you mentioned on the back set)?

Thanks Ed & Sandra! Those wheels are actually chrome and before shipping they paint the black inserts as you can see in the picture. The chrome lip is not obvious in that picture but because of the offset on my wheels, you end up with a deep chrome lip or rim. not sure of the correct terminology.

Be Blessed!
