Tell us more about the custom wind screen ... Does it work well? Personally, I don't mind the wind in my hair ... But I dislike the seat back be pounded back & forth.

I will be meeting Ocool just before Christmas in Orlando on the way to south Florida to visit my family. Ocool has asked me to post some of his pictures. If I do it right, I'll teach him on Friday. So here goes. This first photo is the wind deflector he installed.

I am not sure about this one. Ocool tells me this is a "Hood Emblem". So I guess I'll need to see his car in person to know where this one went.

The wind screen comes up about 4.5 inches and really takes care of the back pressure wind you normally feel. I designed and fabricated it myself. It's permanent and doesn't enterfere with seeing out the back at all. I set the aluminum channel and rubber gasket, then cut and polished the plexiglas ends so it sets between the two roll bars with pressure and dlb. sided tape. Just to test it, I took it to 110 and its as solid as a rock.

The other modd is under the hood, where I had the cadillac emblem air brushed. The picture didn't do it justice, it's impressive when showing the car at shows.

The corsa's are fantastic, it really enhances the sound of the V8. Now it sounds like a sports car. (ocool)

If I understand correctly you are in Orlando. I have looked at the photo of your between the bars wind screen and would like to make one of my own. By luck I will be in Orlando next Thursday and would love to see it first hand. It would also be fun to meet another XLR owner.

This is an important modification to me as my wife has long hair and will not let me drive with the top down!

Any additional information you could post would also be great!

I've had a windbaffle since my 04 and past it on to my V, but one thing bothers me about it. The plastic picks up dust very easy, is there anything you know of that would keep the dust off that plastic? I'm tempted to have one made of tempered glass but I'm afraid the holes for the straps would break out during a crash leaving a lot of glass flying around the cabin.

standby, I originally thought of using tempered glass also, but came to the same conclusion about the possibility of broken glass in the car. I ended up with using 1/4 " plexi-glass. It really worked out better because I was able to cut it to fit tight, thus putting pressure between the two roll bars. I used metal u shaped tubing with a rubber gasket to hold and cushion the plexi-glass thats normally used for glass windows. I formed the tubing to the curve of the roll bars and used double sided tape and with the pressure of the plexi-glass, it's a very tight fit. another trick i used is to use a torch on the edge of the plexi-glass to melt it and make a smooth finish across the top edge. you just have to be careful not to over heat it as it will melt the glass. You do this before assembling and mounting to the car.
Getting to your question about dust, I haven't experienced this problem at all. I did put a coat of wax on the plexi-glass and maybe that has helped take away any static electricity which would attract dust. And since it's only 4 1/2 " tall, it stays clean and really does the job. Bill:)

Bob, from my motorcycle bag of tricks I pull out a product called Plexus to fight dust sticking. Originally made for aircraft but a lot of folks with plastic bodied motorcyles use it. Stores that specialize in Gold Wing stuff should have it. A second choice is Pledge, available everywhere. It doesn't last as long and tends to attract bees.
