If someone can explain to me how to attach it to a posting, I've got a great JPEG picture that I can share with the Forum members. It shows all three reds, side-by-side, in one picture. They include: Crimson Pearl, InfraRed, and the new Passion Red.

You need to upload to a host site first. Goto photobucket.com (its free) then you upload to their site and copy the url they supply after youu post (youll see its easy)

Thanks xlr - hopefully this works. The following will take you to the picture showing a comparison on the three XLR reds.

The red on the left is my 2005 Crimson Pearl, the middle one is a 2006 Infrared and on the right is a 2007 Passion Red.

The new Infra Red is AWSOME!!!!! I bought a 2007 CTS Sport for my wife with that color and it ROCKS!!! I just may not stay with my XENON Blue.

Thanks for the comparison photo--I think the XLR's look great in the 'Crimson Pearl,' as it is very iridescent and has alot of depth to the color, sort of a blue-red shade, whereas the Red Line is darker, and still very nice (and 'XLR I FL,' I think the CTS Sport looks great in the Red Line Color--the '07 'Sport' exterior changes for the CTS model looks really good.)

Thanks for the side-by-side photo. I originally had a 2004 Crimson Pearl and traded it for a 2006 Infra-Red. When looking at photos or seeing them individually at the dealer, I did not see a real difference. I had to park them side-by-side (as in your photo) to notice the difference between the two. I chose to trade for the 2006 as much for the upgrades in the XLR as for the color choice. I guess that I would have to see the new red in person to see if I liked it. It appears that it doesn't have as much of a metallic paint look to it as the other Reds.

Jim, as far as I know, the passion red is the victory red of the C6 vette - it`s non metallic.

Hans, I think that you are correct. I am not a big fan of that red. We did have a 2002 corvette in the magnetic red metallic, which was more like a burgundy or the XLR infra red. I wasn't going to get the special edition anyway, just a wait a few years and then get a V when my XLR gets close to going out of warranty. Jim

You are correct, Passion Red has NO metallic. It is a flat, fire-engine red.

And yes, magnetic red on a Corvette looks a lot like infrared on an XLR because, in fact, they are the same color - - just with different names. As I said previously, GM apparently couldn't be creative enough to come up with really unique, high-quality paints for their $75K and $100K vehicles. But then again, there is that violet or purple for 2007.
