: Corsa exhaust
ocool 10-22-2006, 09:17 AM This past saturday, I ordered my new corsa exhaust. They say to allow about 7 to 10 days for it to come in. I saw one last week on vacation in Naples fl. and it was awsome. Couldn't beleve the sound it produced. Now, the waiting game begins. I'll let you know how it is after the install. Bill in Orlando fl.:cool
BUDSVET 10-22-2006, 12:26 PM you will like it, have one on my XLR and the sound is better than my Z06.:reddevil
jackewells 10-22-2006, 06:21 PM I've had mine for about a year now and can't imagine the XLR without them.
Combined with the K&N filters which went in at the same time, performance is way up and gas mileage too. 30 MPG is real easy to get with cruise control on the open highway:flag

Greetings Hans,
You really are not good for my ego... Your XLR-V is beautiful, congratulations! I have not visited this site very often lately. Sorry if you have commented in previous posting, but how do you like your XLR-V. Any problems with heat transfer? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

you should visit more often!
right Harry?;)
standby 10-23-2006, 05:56 PM That's a mock V, rims sent to Hans from my V and then he bought some badges. Looks great...........Right. All he needs is the raised hood and know one would know the difference, except for the color.(Thunder Grey)
I guess I could answer the questions about the heat transfer, if you mean in the console. It's great, just like in any normal car.
Bob

John,
no heat problem with the console, it get`s a little warm I would say just about the same it was in my Vette`s.
Mike,
I read all posts on the forum but you know how it is - sometimes you have just nothing to say.
Bob,
you are right, it`s not a V but a very nice XLR:lol and your V will beat me up to 158 in acceleration but after the 158 I`ll take the lead with my NON V:glol
Kent,
hope to see you next year at Bowling Green in a new V, I think this happens:thumbs
Jim,
I´m pretty sure you`ll have a V for next BG XLR Rendezvous II, if you don`t have it before you`ll take delivery at the Corvette museum BG. You know how to surprise people, just remember when you bought the 07 Escalade at Galles&Davis;)
You are all great people

jamsto 10-24-2006, 08:24 AM Hans, I don't think I'll have a V for the Rendezvous. We bought two regular XLRs in 2006 and a 2007 Escalade, so we will probably have to wait a year to buy a V model, unless I can get them to buy my XLR back like Bob did. Jim
harrysxlr 10-24-2006, 11:29 AM We will see Jim,
as far as I got to know you during "XLR Rendezvous I" I wouldn`t bet that you have no V untill "XLR Rendezvous II".
Hans
standby 10-24-2006, 05:49 PM If you have enough problems and paper to back it, why not?

jamsto 10-24-2006, 08:06 PM That's the problem. We haven't had problems with the new XLRs that would warrant a buy back.

Thanks again John,
the V wheels and my E&G mesh grille makes the car look much, much better.
Little changes can do so much!
Have a nice weekend

Toxic 11-06-2006, 06:41 AM Hello All:
Picked up an XLR 3 weeks ago and am interested in the Corsa Touring Cat Back exhaust system. I'm wondering if anyone who installed this experienced a 'check engine' light? Any issues?
Also, did you notice a performance improvement?
Thanks

Hi Toxic,
no negative experiences since I`ve put the Corsa on mine about 15 months ago.
Jim Browning Jr.(son of Corsa performance company) told me there should be about 10% increase in horsepower what would be arround 350 and I guess he`s right.
I know in US test`s the XLR got o-60 times of around 5.9 seconds!
I`ve meassured mine 3 times and got 0 -100 kph (62 mph) in 5.5 seconds.
Top end before Corsa 286 kph (177 mph) - with Corsa 292 kph (181 mph)
The export model is NOT speed limited!!!!!!!
The sound is fantastic - I love it!
Hans
Toxic 11-06-2006, 02:50 PM Hi Hans:
Thanks for your note. I personally would enjoy the XLR a bit more if I could hear it ! Not too loud, but something would be better than the typical Cadillac silence.
Thanks also for the results of your tests. If I install the Corsa, I will dyno my car and will share the data here.

ocool 11-06-2006, 08:06 PM Got the word today that my corsa exhaust is due in this wednesday and I have an appointment to have it installed Friday. Can't wait, hope all goes well, I'll let you know the outcome after friday. Bill Manes
Toxic - I'm very interested in the Corsa exhaust too. If others share this interest, perhapz we can explore a group buy.
Toxic 11-07-2006, 03:37 PM Thanks Bill & 427. Open to ideas but as of this moment, I'll recommend having the dealer install just in case it throws a check engine light. Ya never know......
Toxic- Did you plan to purchase the Corsa exhaust thru the dealer too? I was just figuring we could purchase thru a group buy and you could have anyone do the install (including the dealer).
Toxic 11-09-2006, 10:28 AM Have not decided where yet (or when for that matter). Most likely will not purchase through dealer as they will be full retail I'm sure.
turbodaddy 11-14-2006, 08:17 PM if there is a group purchase started count me in so far the cheapest price i have found is 1300
jackewells 11-14-2006, 09:02 PM $1300 is a good price......I shopped good and settled for $1500 which was the best deal I could find:flag
BUDSVET 11-14-2006, 10:27 PM I put one on mine about fithteen months and it's a snap to put on if you have access to a lift, takes about twenty minutes and it won't throw a code. sounds almost as good as my Z06. you will love it.:reddevil
turbodaddy- Is the $1300 price with or without shipping?
Are you at liberty to tell us the source of this deal?
if there is a group purchase started count me in so far the cheapest price i have found is 1300
1_XLR 11-20-2006, 11:28 AM Has anyone put Corsas on a V?
They will fit, no problem, but will probably sound much different.
I'm courious to know how the sound and drone is.
My Borlas on the V are much deeper, louder and unfortunatly, more drone than when they were on the XLR.
Installation takes a little longer on the V because the sway bar must be removed....the XLR dosen't have one.

turbodaddy 12-16-2006, 06:14 AM 427,sorry just now getting back to you 1399 shipped to your door from speed inc.
jackewells 12-16-2006, 09:44 AM Jim Browning at Corsa Performance told me yesterday that they plan to make some minor modifications to the V system and will have it available soon.:bs
turbodaddy - Thanx for the update & info. I may hold off on mine until spring ... I'll do the exhaust and tint after the roads clear up.
427,sorry just now getting back to you 1399 shipped to your door from speed inc.
ocool 12-18-2006, 09:04 PM Put the corsa's on about 5 weeks ago and they are absolutely fantastic. Now it sounds like a sports car should. Couldn't be happier with the set up. Once you hear the new sound on an XLR, you'll want them also. Another forum member here in Orlando put them on last week after coming over to hear mine. It's an addictive sound that once you hear it, you won't be able to not do it...Bill
Now if I could just figure out how to post some pictures of a few of the modds done to my 06 XLR, I'd like to share them. Appreciate any help...
