Anyone have an idea on how to disable the under hood lamp? Not listed on any of the fuses. Like to show the engine but can't leave the hood open long the way that thing eats the juice.

It should time itself out after a pre-set length of time, not sure what the time span is though.

XLR V, there`s a socket on the right front in the hood, you just can disconnect that, they use to do it here in germany when the car is in for service.
But also as mswaim says, it will shut off by itsself when the car sits for 10 minutes but will go back on when come in touch with the electrical system ( open a door or trunk).

If you visit the corvette forum, I found instructions on installing a $2.00 push button on/off switch from radio shack right under the lamp itself. I did it on my c6 and my o6 xlr. It works great and makes it where you only turn on the lamp when you want it on. It takes about 15 minutes to install in line. simply loosen the hood liner on the side where the lite is located to give yourself room to work. I also had the hood liner cadillac emblen air-brushed with the cadillac colors. Looks sharp.
