1_XLR 06-01-2006, 11:11 AM no one needs wheels?
I'm courious why you're selling them just a few months after all your hassels in buying them?
xlr23 06-03-2006, 03:48 PM thank you for asking....
I got fed up with my caddy after a horrible experience with Moore cadillac and now I have a buy back pending with cadillac over my XLR...and I decided that I would never purchase another cadillac in my life again
the car was a disater after another, the craftsmanship is worst than a civic and finally the service is better at KIA...so I went and bought myself a 2005 MercedesE55 AMG Brabus K4....
and wheels are off the car because no matter what happens car will be gone in the next month or so!
But this is a great deal since like you said I almost have never driven it since I got my wheels...
harrysxlr 06-04-2006, 09:22 AM thank you for asking....

Hi xlr23,
hope you`ll have more luck with your e55! Here in Germany the e class was leader in its segment but for very many problems with this latest model it fells behind bmw 5 series and audi a6 (here in germany)
BTW the new overworked E class hits showrooms next saturday.
Harry
xlr23 06-05-2006, 07:19 PM thanks harry...the E55 is about 10 times the car my XLR ecer was and it ll smoke the balls off of a XLR-V... but I will miss the convertible top...an SL55 in the near future might make its way in my garage
standby 06-05-2006, 07:55 PM XLR23 or Hans, Is this the E55 AMG 469hp you are referring too?

harrysxlr 06-06-2006, 04:58 AM XLR23 or Hans, Is this the E55 AMG 469hp you are referring too?
It is Bob, only hp rating here in Germany is 476, same as the STS V got.
Hope xlr23 says that after 6 months than I will agree he`s got a good car. But still, I think the XLR V is faster than the E55 or at least similar.
Road&Track test numbers for the XLR V 0-60 4.3sec - E55 AMG 0-60 4.4sec
Well, forget about this, tomorrow IŽll get my first ride in your V and at this time IŽll be high in the air on my way to LAX.:thumbs

xlr23 06-06-2006, 05:57 PM with 515 lbs od torque stock...your XLRV is about 30 cars behind...watch this video of a stock E55 against a modena 360 ferrari and do you really belive that any cadillac measure up to a 360 modena ...I dont think so:)
http://rapidshare.de/files/21143117/...ODENA.WMV.html
Plus this one is slow (only did 112) as we trap 116 with ease day in and out at the 1/4 mile
xlr23 06-06-2006, 06:21 PM on another note to answer to motortrend you speak of....
2006 M5 Vs 2005 E55 test article
0-60 for E55 4.2 sec
1/4 mile at 12.4@116mph
Without mentioning if it hasnt already been that 469HP and 515lbs of torque is about 100 more than the XLR-V
standby 06-06-2006, 07:51 PM OK, enough is enough. I've listened and went over all the information that you have, magazines have, and I have.
You've bashed the V until it's flat, Now here this, I killed a SL55 AMG who tried to sneak up on me. When it was over he was a gentleman and gave me a big thumbs up. You have a big surprise in for you if you ever take me on,
We pride our vehicles on this site and bashing isn't a nice thing to do, especially when you don't have a clue as to what your talking about. I Will kill you on the line, because I know how to drive this gorilla.
Performance mode, 1st gear, shift at 5200, throw it into the automatic mode and let it do it's thing. 4.1 on a stop watch by a guy that owns a C06 Vette and didn't want to admit it. I'd love to test it in Albuquerque with some witnesses, but the elevation would kill the numbers. I apologize for my brashness, but you did leave me no choice.
Bob......................................... It's Party time:party

xlr23 06-06-2006, 08:50 PM if there are any V in VA or MD, we are going to the drag strip with the corvette club of america and the NVMC(mustangs) first week of july....I ll pay for your entry fee as long as you run me at least 3 times...
No one said anything about bashing...this is fact...and I am willing to pay and have someone put it on tape to prove it...cant call me a basher either cause I am offering a match and paying for it... like you said its party time
By the way the fastest built V is the STS-v which got smoked like crazy when Road and track compared it to the E55 and srt8 300C...
So how is your car faster than the STS-V :yawn
I also still own an XLR and a 997 911 C4s, an E55, a 500HP Evo 8...all would crush you...you might be even with my 911 till about 110...then bye bye...:eek
BUT none the less the XLR was the most amazingly designed vehicle ever, that why i bought one but as many agree on this site the craftsmanship isnt there, nor is the service and it is mechanically unreliable in most cases...(Top problems, radio, etc...):cheers
xlr23 06-06-2006, 08:53 PM whats really funny is that I was trying to sell my rims, not my E55:lol
standby 06-06-2006, 09:57 PM I really wish I knew where you're getting your information, and I understand you have all these toys or have had them, but I can crush a STS-V and have. Who has the most hp? The STS-V, and is totally lost after 8 seconds. It's a dog off the line because it's so heavy, no wonder it got smoked.
You idea of bashing and mine are really eons apart. read your posts, that's bashing. Your quote, "I also still own an XLR and a 997 911 C4s, an E55, a 500HP Evo 8...all would crush you..." This is not bashing? Excuse me, your XLR will cursh my V. BTW the 320 hp Northstar is known for being one of the most realiable engines out there, that's why you will find them in Baja and all the dune buggies.
If I lived back there and you know I don't, which is why you offered to pay, I would be there with bells on, so you're just going to have to wonder what I really have that's so special.
Signing off for the week, going to the BIg A with Hans
xlr23 06-06-2006, 11:16 PM I would be stupid to think that my xlr is faster than your V, that we are on the same page on...my thing is this just because this is an XLR forum does not mean they are the fastest thing out there, same goes for the porsche forum I belong to and the benz forum ( We know the new ZO6 is faster than the E55 by a lot, so its silly for me to tell the ZO6 owners that I would give them a run for it )....but check out this post i made after we spoke, on the benz forum, they have had people post their times on drag slips. com for both cars....XLR-V is fast but not fast enough...in this case...does not mean it isnt extremely fast but its not faster
I have included a copy to the link so you see for yourself and for the record I am not bashing its all in good fun....I honestly have no intention to make the XLR look bad....not the intention at all...I liked it at some point and then it wasnt for me....but also do not think that the SL 55 is near the speed of the E55, its a lot slower
http://forums.mbworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=151139
Check out the link to the slips for both cars...real drivers and decent 60 ft times on both :)
xlr23 06-06-2006, 11:18 PM I didnt say you should come...I asked if there are any XLRV in VA or MD...I would pay for them...I know you live too far. :)
standby 06-07-2006, 03:50 PM Please read your quote of 06-06-06 @ 6:05.
"I also still own an XLR and a 997 911 C4s, an E55, a 500HP Evo 8...all would crush you..." So you didn't say your XLR would crush my V? Maybe this had something to do with the fact it was 06-06-06 @ 6. Not holding a grudge, I'm just a little sensitive when it comes to my baby's.

xlr23 07-27-2006, 09:23 PM bump for a great set of wheels at a really low price
xlr23 08-14-2006, 09:58 PM SOLD***** please close tread
standby 08-14-2006, 11:06 PM Mike, My TPM's are not working well with those new rims of mine. When I change the tire pressure the TPM's don't change on the DIC. Cadillac doesn't even want to touch the rims anymore.
1_XLR 08-15-2006, 09:39 AM Mike, My TPM's are not working well with those new rims of mine. When I change the tire pressure the TPM's don't change on the DIC. Cadillac doesn't even want to touch the rims anymore.
:skep does that mean you're selling them? don't know why you posted that here, but anyway.........
I just can't see how the wheel could have anything to do with the TPM reading. as long as its mounted securly and and not being interfeared with, what difference does the wheel make? It's typical when they can't fix something to always blame the aftermarket stuff, but I don't get the reasoning here. If they're telling you they can't get to the TPM to fix it because they don't have the equiptment or don't want to be responsible for the custom wheels (which is BS too) that is not so unusual.....but didn't they put these on your car in the first place? Is this just one or all 4 not reading? If the reading dosn't change when you change pressure, when does it read correctly? You're aware the DIC takes time to catch up.
BTW....since we're refering to your buddies at Allen....and we are in the For Sale section....
you would not belive the POS car cover they sent me from the car show. I think you can get them at Pep Boys for about $30 and if you fold it good it should fit in the glove box! I would never b!tch about something I got for free, but it's a far cry from the Custom GM XLR-V cover they told us it would be.
Anyway....$25. if anyone wants it .....NIB never used!
standby 08-15-2006, 07:11 PM Not selling the rims, at least not yet. They said that the rims are don't support the TPM's or they weren't installed by Grand Prix in Newport Beach correctly. If you change the pressure, it doesn't change on the DIC. Four days and it hasn't caught up. When we were at that rally a few weeks ago, you should have looked where they put these damn valves, (inside of the cross pieces and you burn your hand on the everything if your doing while hot, which is when you generally need to [/URL] put air in or take out.
They ordered the wrong valve for the sticky valve on the supercharger, and haven't got any idea where to get it. I asked him if I bought a foreign car.
Sorry you got screwed on the car cover Typical Allen Cadillac. I guess I'll go on a bashing spree. Not my buddies, I'm switching to Tustin Cadillac and then we will go from there, but first I have some good questions before I let them touch my car.
