Yeah i was just wondering how long and how many miles you guys have on your v's cause my father when he got rid of his Xlr he had 40,000 miles on it and now since he got the v about a month ago he has only put about 80 miles on it.

I got my V end of January and have 2300 miles so far
I put 30,000 on my XLR in 2.5 years
I don't intend to put as many miles on the V...but it's really hard to leave it in the garage!

Yeah, Adam, it's fair to say I love it. I thought I'd be missing a manual and swapping with my wife to drive her CTS-v more often, but that 6L80 tranny rocks in all its modes.

My XLR-v is black. Now, this is really BLACK paint on these cars, and it has all the headaches of modern clearcoated black paint. All I can say, for anyone in the same position, is -- No cotton towels; microfiber only; no towel drying, instead wash, rinse and evaporate with the Mr. Clean AutoDry filtered water system; wax is your friend. I swore I wasn't going to buy another black car, ever. But there it was looking like a solid block of polished onyx in the showroom.

Gas hit $3.35 for premium here in L.A. But it's not a problem. I got 25.2mpg on a late night run of 75 miles at average speed of 82mph, last week. 18mpg in mixed city driving and 15mpg in 100% rush hour freeway creeping and climbing canyon roads. Other people uniformly like the car, so it's not socially polarizing and doesn't set people apart.

That said, there have been a few times I've had to reluctantly show tailights to the ascot Euro-weenie set when they hadn't gotten the memo on The General building serious cars again.
