upstate 02-24-2006, 05:18 PM That's great I know you have been waiting patiently.
What interest rate did you get on the 10 year loan?
I know you paid cash, just busting on you.:party Bartender: "What'll you have?" Bob: Make me a pink slip
standby 02-24-2006, 05:25 PM Thanks Upstate, I may get a cramp in my hand writing out this check. Talk later.............going to get the baby.

upstate 02-24-2006, 07:20 PM No cramps yet until you sign your name. Then the V will be yours!:thumbs
P.S. Bob because of your XLR I just bought those Foose rims I showed you the other day. I'll have them mounted and ready to go when the weather breaks. Do you know if those are a chrome wheel?
You most likely won't see this note for a while because you are enjoying the "V" as it should "BE"!
standby 02-24-2006, 10:27 PM My Fose Speedsters are chrome on the 04. I like those wheels so much, that I'm putting 19" Speedsters on my V
If you remember how the muscle cars used to raise up in front like they where going to leap.............Guess what I got? This V is is a bullet in disguise. I have to stop playing and get 500 miles on it before I can really have some fun.

jamsto 02-25-2006, 08:26 AM Congratulations Bob. Glad it finally came in and hope you are enjoying it. Looking forward to you and Hans showing up here in June with your new toy. Jean and I will just have to suffer along in our regular XLRs for a while.:cheers
standby 02-26-2006, 09:51 PM thanks guys, I aprreciate the thoughts. It's a bit like your darlins Vette. Front end comes up off the ground and is awsome. Not afraid to mess with anyone at a light.
BTW...........How many people do we have signed up for the rendezvous? If we have a decent number it may be helful to let members know so they want to join the party. Speaking of which, I'm going to have to make Hans and my reservations in Albuqerque or we will be sleeping in the Coronado Mall.
Allen let me get away with MSRP while every dealer around here is asking between 10k and 15k over and getting it.........see ya in a few months.

standby 02-27-2006, 04:50 PM The V is at Allens waiting for rims and painting of calipers. driving the 04 until then. I just realized that my 04 is no sloutch. We are really having trouble finding rims, since the V needs 2 piece rims to clear everything, so I might have to wait awhile
It's ok, it's raining for the next to days

Allen Cadillac really needs to remodel and update their dealership. Boy is it looking old.
standby 02-27-2006, 08:13 PM It's funny you bring this up after I just got done talking to the general manager. He claims that dealers that have upgraded and rebuilt are really having a tough time making ends meet, while Allen's enjoys the old look, really nice bathrooms, a library to sit and relax while waiting, and something that is really important...........MSRP or lower for their vehicles. They don't ever take advantage, because they don't have to. Also I just talked to Scott Allen today and he informed me he has 3 more V's that have been allocated to him and he will deal at MSRP with anyone. These are his words, not mine. In the mean time I'm enjoying my V which I picked up Friday at MSRP less $1.00...........don't ask.

standby 02-27-2006, 08:22 PM Did you ever get your exhaust plate? I've removed mine from my 04 and polished it up and looks like brand new. I don't think it will fit on my V because of the baffles in the exhausts in the rear, but will put it up 4 sale in our sale area if it doesn't. :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead

BigBucksT 02-27-2006, 10:51 PM Well, if you cant make ends meet with a Cadillac dealer in Laguna Niguel, you dont deserve to be in business. I have seen the service bay and lounge, and they are laughable. Look at the beautiful Mercedes dealership across the street. There is also a beautiful new Audi and Infiniti dealership across the freeway. In my opinion, it is unacceptable to use the excuse of "we cant pay the bills if we remodel." If these other dealerships can, you can too.
Quixotic 02-28-2006, 11:06 AM Casa de Cadillac's building has been designated an historic landmark, so they can't re-do it.
standby 02-28-2006, 02:31 PM :banghead :banghead Wow............You definitely have an opinion on this subject. You can most certainly go to these dealers who aren't family owned like Allen's and get the shaft every time you turn around. I get treated like royalty at Allen's.:banghead

standby 02-28-2006, 08:35 PM rick,
Thank you and back at you. Tell us what you like best about your new V.
Mine would be the lift on the front end when I slam it and the great sound when the baffles open up when I hit the supercharger. It's all about the 443HP. If I hadn't owned an 04 I probably would choose a lot of things like the nav system, but my salesman just handed me the keys and said, "here, I don't need to tell you anything, you already know more than most." I guess that was a compliment.
New "Dirty Dog" rims by DUB tomorrow, with painted cherry red calipers and the V on the caliper will be painted just like the badges on the side of the car. Will post pics when It's finished http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_13_1.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZS) cheers, and good luck.

XLR-V 02-28-2006, 08:57 PM Bob,
Unfortunately, we got a bunch of snow the day after I took delivery so she has yet to leave the garage. My last couple of toys have been a Viper SRT-10 and Viper RT/10, so I don't expect to be overwhelmed by the power. I also have a CTS-V that moves pretty good. I look forward to a great season coming up.
I'll have more to report shortly.
