: Got My V!!!!!!
1_XLR 02-01-2006, 09:34 AM First V delivered in California......
Drove it home yesterday.....Red on Black.....What a wild ride!
For those of you actually waiting to get one, you will not be disappointed.
Put your foot in it and it will throw your head back when the Supercharger kicks in and sucks up 3 MPG!!
Very solid ride and the brakes are increadible! You feel total confidence that they will take this beast down.
This is NOT for the casual driver! Awsome power.
Much quiter than I expected, I may try to put my Borlas on it. (Tech opinions appreciated)
The front grill is flimsy. The GM rep told me the law requires all autos to withstand a 5 mph collision, therefore it had to be flexible. I would have kept my Strut, but I don't think they would fit.
Time to shop wheels again, the stock are nice, but need something to personalize it. Must tint the windows.
Other than that, so far, the car is perfect!!:thumbs
mswaim 02-01-2006, 09:42 AM Congratulations! Now get out there and obtain the first (and trust-worthy) 0-60 times in California!

Only one so far............
mswaim 02-01-2006, 10:38 AM I realize GM has put alot of thought into the exhaust systems used by both the Z06 and the XLR-V, however I've owned numerous vehicles that were S/C'ed and all of them profited from free-flowing exhausts and cold-air intakes of one kind or another. All depends on what you hope to accomplish. If tone is the only issue, I would think your Borla system would be perfect especially at mid-throttle.

Thank you 1_XLR - what a great car!!!

tim harris 02-01-2006, 03:33 PM Congratulations! Hopefully GM will spread the distrubution of the V's around the Country so all of use who have one on order don't have to wait too long. From the picture you posted it looks like a flair has be added to the rear wheel wells, am I seeing things that aren't there, or did they plan ahead for the wider tires? Enjoy, Tim.

Thanks everyone for the Congrats!:cheers
I'm sure they'll spread them around, dealers are only getting 1 or 2 cars and my dealer won't see his next one until May.
I wonder how many Allen (Mr XLR) was able to get?
Flair is the same as the XLR, but they do put a wider tire on the rear, 255s
Still has 235s up front though
standby 02-01-2006, 07:36 PM Initially, Scott Allen told me he was allocated three, but with 850 being produced he may get up to four:cheers :party

Did you own a regular XLR before and if so what are the differences. Where did you get your car (What dealer) and did you pay over or under sticker or sticker?
There is a nice review of the car in this weeks autoweek,

Hi 1_XLR,
it`s very good that you are one of the first owners of an XLR V and as you know me I´m allways interrested on your new V`s speed limiter.
You are the only one on this forum who had his XLR a several times up to 155 when the speed-limiter kicks in and I really like to know how it is on your V!
I know it will take a couple of weeks till your break-in period is over but don`t forget.

There is a nice review of the car in this weeks autoweek,
Silver Star Cadillac, Thousand Oaks never charges over MSRP on anything they sell
and gave me a generous price on my 04 XLR trade in with 30k miles on it.
I bought it from them also, it was the first XLR they had sold.
BTW, they have a STS-V on the floor....Nice! Black on black with red detail.
Differences?:rolleyes

That`s the way a dealer should tread good customers.
Thanks for answering my priv. mess. I tried to answer but you have 25 stored and can now take no more.
This weekend or next week my E&G grille arrives, hope it`s solid.
BTW I saw this STS V at Silver Star Cadillac but your V wasn`t listed there.
Thanks again
Harry
