I've found one bug in the software. It stops reading the smilie shortcut when it finds a match. I had : lolg and : lol. I had to change : lolg to : glol.

I'll have to modify the : nonod also. :(

Nice, is that interior just for the Neiman Marcus Edition or will that be the standard interior when it goes full production?:cheers

That's pretty much what it will look like. Not sure about the color combo & woodgrain though.

Looks good to me, but a little....flat. No curvy organic surfaces. It just looks like the inner door skins and the seats are sort of thin. Of course what matters is how it feels and looks once you are sitting in it. I hope it has the rock solid feel that some of the german cars have. You know...like you could take a sledge hammer to even the softest surfaces, and the structure underneath wouldn't budge. I like that feeling of solidity. Personally I like a little woodgrain in there too. When I was younder I didn't like it, because it reminded me of cars from the 70's and 80's. But now, I like it. In a luxury car at least. It really adds a little bit of warmth to the cabin. Makes it a more inviting place

The woodgrain is what makes it say 'Cadillac'.. It's still a luxury car so it needs it.. I think it needs more.. Of course, all tastes are different.. I've seen woodgrain inside Vettes and I thought that looked pretty bad... But, that's just me...

Yes, wood grain tastefully done in a luxury car is nice.

The only wood I like in a car is dark red. I can't stand any other color.

How about marble trim? :jester

I like everything but the woodgrain. I am just not a woodgrain fan.

I love that shot, the whole interior looks very fighter jety to me...VERY:cool :cool :cool Am I the only one who finds that cool?
It would be better if they'd lose the wood though:smash

Very cool.

We'll just have to get Ken King of Vette Essentials to make some nice leather replacement parts for the wood. :)

In general I like wood in a car, though not in pure sports cars. The XLR is a luxury ride and I think wood fits, but ovarall I don't think they did a great job with the inside - especially not at that price. I think dark wood looks good with dark interiors, and lighter wood with lighter interiors. Here's the inside of my car (a lowly by comparison 3 series), with dark wood and black leather:

Here's an interior shot of the XLR's direct competition (Benz SL500), which I think looks a LOT better than the XLR inside:

And here's the Jag which has a ton of wood, and looks awesome:

I have to agree with you. The interiors you posted look better. The XLR interior is a bit too "flat" overall. The wood looks more like an add-on than an integrated design.

My wife's Audi Allroad had nicely integrated wood. It looks like it was designed in from day one.

I do like the XLR interior overall but think that they could have done better for that price range.

It really is a hard choice, both the XLR and SL have nice interiors in their own special way, I do however think that the Benz is better...where as the XLR is kind of "cooler":cheers :crazy

Those are my thoughts exactly. There's just no flow to the design. The curves in the design of the Benz and Jag, particularly when it comes to the wood, create a classier (and more integrated) effect.

Those cars are very nice. We're thinking of getting a used Audi A6 wagon for my wife - but the Allroads will be out of our price range a bit. Audi is a master when it comes to interiors.

I am supposed to go to LA in April and test drive the XLR, MBZ & Jag on the race track for comparison purposes. Now that should be fun :cheers

i like the way the benz gauges look, they kind of jump out at you. they look (for lack of a better word) futuristic. by comparison, the xlr's look plain and boring.

I wonder how close the XLR interior is to the C6 interior.

Good question. They both will have that "Arts & Science" design. They might be similar.

That is a nice interior, Does anybody know what parts from the interior from the XLR will be in the C-6 Vettes?:confused

The XLR dash looks more C5 to me then any of the others. The door panels look flat, plain and unattractive to me for a $75K car.
