The remote possiblity of that happening is not good news for anyone in this country. We have a struggling auto industry and as the auto industry stuggles so will our economy. 8 out of 10 jobs in the US are touched directly or in directly by the auto industry. This is not like TWA or US AIR going bankrupt this is much more significant. China, Mexico and other pionts are gaining our manufacturing jobs. This would be a death blow to a new level. :cry

Did anyone notice the articles in the apper recentl about Delco. There average wage and benefits are twice the average of other US Auto workers in the parts industry and 20 times that of Mexico. (Delco = $65/hour)

A little bit more is OK, but these numbers are the reason many US industries can't compete.

How much is GM CEO Rick Wagoner make last year?
How much did the average GM worker make last year when compared with Honda Nissan or Toyota?

After squeezing benefits again, what's next?
