Hey guys I just thought I'd let you know that as of right now GM is in the process of setting up the Training class for the XLR. It was supposed to start in May but has been pushed back till April.
I am looking forward to this although my dealer does not sell Cadillac I do all the work on the Corvettes here and will enjoy the oppurtunity to get a heads up on the C6.

That's great news! Thanks for the heads up. :cheers

I'm confused on the start date though. You said it was supposed to start in May but was pushed back until April. I may have my months backwards but sounds like it got moved up. :confused

I got an "XLR service training update" fax today which says the hands on training will be available beginning May 21, 2003. In the meantime ther are IDL's staring April 21, 2003. IDL's are Internet Satellite Training.

Are you telling us to inform us of the time line or that they are going to have training on it? The training is usually standard. For the C6 the dealer can't sell the car unless they sell at least 12 cars the year before (or maybe it was the C5) and then they have to have qualified training. My Fiancee works for VW/Audi and they take most of the dealers to various places to test drive their cars on closed tracks.

Timeline, training usually starts 6 months before hand but it looks like training is going to be about the same time and training is not standard anymore, It's a totally different ballgame these days. I have to travel 500 miles to go to class.

so you gonna hook us up? :D

Yeah, the training isn't standard on all cars, only the high performace/expensive cars. but who cars if the dealer doesn't have training on a metro.

I can only hope that is true.. Last time I went to a specialized classwas in 96 right before the C5 was released. They do have classes on things like Quadrasteer but the XLR is the first vehicle specific class I've seen in a long while. I'm having the internet classes taped so I will give ya the highlights!!

THought you might want to take a peak at the curriculum. You cant get in but it gives you an overview.

:cool I wonder if the XLR is going to be as good a car as the SL, GM sure suggests that:cheers
