I cant notice any difference but its on the sticker. Personally, The Black star looks the same in every way noticable (Except front end) to me - I dont get it. If GM wants to make it special how about a 6 speed etc

The paint color is officially called "Star Black"? Not Black Star?

For two grand (actually, probably a lot more since dealers may not discount these as much as regular XLR's) you get a chrome grill, chrome wheels, two-tone interior, "special" paint, a number on the door sill plate and a car cover.

Either way, you've got to like black!

The two tone interior is the same as in the Neiman Marcus XLRs, the original limited edition XLR.

I still have not gotten a staright answer. What is 2 tone? I see the tan seats but what is black on this car that is not on another? Looks the same to me. Please be specific.

There has been so much on this, there was a direct link to view all the pics of the two tone interior of the Star Black Limited Edition. With the pics there is a breakdown of the special features. The Two Tone interior is now standard on all 2006 with the Shale/Ebony interior.

All the uppers are in ebony instead of Dk. shale of previous models with the shale leather.

To answer an earlier question, the paint is called Star Black due to the heavy content of the Xirallic Crystal flake. This special flake is similar to the Red Xirallic that is in the Infra Red.

Hi XLR, I`ve send some photos to STANDBY (Bob) because I van`t put them in the Gallery (always size too large) I think he will post them for me later in the day.

Now the two-tone, it`s simple
our 04 and 05 with shale interior was 2 tone also
the meaning of this is, the upper parts (dash, the cover around the back window and above the doors was on shale interior a kind og light brown, as you know
and now these upper parts, which used to be brown, they are black now.
That`s it, and it`s only on shale interior.

Hope Bob doesn`t sleep too long, to post some pics.

Now I understand why they are all sitting on dealer lots. How about something special for a few grand extra like a 6 speed manual or all wood dash or bigger wheels - something.
This is basically 2 G's for metallic paint and shiny wheels.

Hi XLR, as I said, there is no difference on interior.

Chrome Grill, chrome wheels and this beautifull Black-Star color.

DeVoe in Neaples/Fl which had 4 Star-Black sold three of them real quick and the color in sunlight looks real great. No other car maker offers such a color.

I like my thunder-gray XLR but this black looks so nice. Well, $ 2k more it`s worth it, I would say

Got it. What confused me was the sticker that says 2-tone interior. But now I fullyundersatnd its on ALL 2006 models.

I saw a black star yesterday and I must admit I did like the chrome etc.
