upstate 08-22-2005, 09:10 PM I thought the plate one of our members had on his car really finished the back end nicely. Said it was $600.00 and was used for filming in one of the Caddy promos. I'm sure that is what it cost for the one unit production. I have been searching high and low for one and can not find it anywhere.
So I contacted and friend of mine with a machine shop and a laser cutting CNC machine to make a nice polished unit. Once I get a proto type I will take pictures for everyone to see. If enough folks are interested in a high quality unit similar to the one in the attached photo I could have some made beyond the proto type. I should be able to offer them at least 50% off the current price. We are not talking big production but with as few as 10 units pricing would certainly not be more than that. I will be able to offer the unit and include purchased from my Caddy dealer the Caddy crest. You then just peel the crest and stick it on. This way I am not dealing with trademark/logo issues for these ten units. Plus this price will not net a profit, just liked this look and thought some of you may be interested. Let me know.

Have you seen the one Lund makes?
It fits and fill in the back of the car very nice. Rounded on the top outside corners and flat on the bottom.
Lund wants 1000.00 to 1300.00 for it which is why I don't have on yet but it looks great.
Can you get one of those made?
I would think it would be easier to make then the one you are thinking of doing.
Maybe you could change the center just a little to hold a Cad. emblem.....
I know a guy down here that could Chrome them for you I think. He has done some parts for me on boats I have repaired.
I think I have a photo of Lund's if you need one.

upstate 08-23-2005, 07:21 AM I am looking at the full one too. I will keep you posted. I know I can do the $1,000. Lund one for at least half. Everyone let me know.
jackewells 08-23-2005, 08:55 AM Looks good.........Make sure that it will fit with Corsas :flag
standby 08-23-2005, 04:22 PM Haven't yet figured out how to put two pics up in post so I will do posts
First pic here is my exhaust plate which is pretty well hidden because of the special exhaust extentions. The second one will be of Lund's exhaust tip, (all one piect)

motorboat 08-24-2005, 06:11 AM But surly this could be made a LOT cheaper and still be as good. I think they are seeing a $70K car and asking a $70K price for something that should cost about $500 - $600..

Homeboy! Where have you been hiding? I thought you had quit us.
Upstate- the picture you posted is too small for me to tell anything about it. Anyone else have that problem?
standby 08-24-2005, 01:15 PM Yes, O grounded one, He must have downsized the picture to much and it will not enlarge. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_15_54.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNxdm414YYUS)

motorboat 08-24-2005, 08:14 PM Aviator,
I have just been on the side lines for the last year.
I check out the site once or twice a day. I still think this is the best site going for the XLR. I find out more and more about my car all the time.
Plus the boat business has been keeping me pretty busy all year just the oil business has for you...
Sorry to hear you sold you plane I was going to see if you would fly over and take a few photos for me.... Oh well...

Y'know I moved to Lake Conroe - right around the corner from Coldspring. I'm still wanting to get a photo to post of our XLRs together somehow.
